With 25 years of experience in administrative and graphic design roles, I offer extensive knowledge across various areas, serving as a valuable asset to numerous local businesses, farms, organizations, and groups. My journey began after receiving my Office Administration certificate from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in Edmonton, Alberta. I transitioned to Southern Alberta with my husband in 1999, settling in Coaldale, a small bedroom community just 10km east of Lethbridge.
My employment in Southern Alberta commenced as an administrative assistant for the Students’ Union department at the University of Lethbridge (ULSU) in 2000. Recognized for my exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and multitasking skills, I quickly advanced to the role of Operations Coordinator within the same department. In this capacity, I honed my skills in producing communications, marketing, and advertising materials, as well as conceptualizing and executing large-scale events. Additionally, I collaborated closely with the General Manager to oversee departmental management and strategic planning, liaising with various University of Lethbridge departments to advance ULSU initiatives.
Following a personal decision to focus on family, I transitioned to a full-time stay-at-home mom role, during which I continued to contribute to my community by volunteering and spearheading initiatives aimed at enhancing the Town of Coaldale. Notably, I played a pivotal role in establishing the annual Coaldale Family Fun Run event, which remains a successful community endeavor to this day. Furthermore, I led the Project Playground Coaldale East Society, working alongside an incredible group of volunteers to oversee the enhancement of Pinnacle Park and various other community initiatives.
In Fall 2017, Lethbridge MP Rachael Harder introduced the Community Builders Volunteer Awards to honor exceptional contributions to the community. Thanks to my involvement, I was honored with one of six Community Leader Awards out of 130 nominations across four categories.
Beginning in 2018, I launched VR Virtual Assistant, providing administrative and marketing support to clients. Since then, I’ve collaborated with a diverse range of clients on both short-term and long-term projects. Whether it’s crafting compelling marketing materials or developing stunning websites, my goal has always been to contribute to their success.
